Did you know the very first series of your favorite Mario games were released over 30 years ago? Yes, the year was 1985 when Nintendo gifted us with Super Mario Bros. The Mario Games as am certain you’d quickly agree to introduce you to a world of various engaging and sometimes challenging levels, escapades, and plots that showcase various video game characters.
Mario Games Main Characters:
Designed by Shigeru Miyamoto, Mario is the lead character and takes the role of the protagonist in now over 200 Mario video games. He is the short chubby Italian plumber with a mustache and is always in a blue and red outfit and a red hat with an M as a logo to complete his look.
The best way to define Luigi would be, he is the Robin to Mario’s Batman or if you rather his sidekick; additionally, he so happens to be Mario’s brother.
Bowser is the antagonist in this setting and is otherwise known as Daimo (Great Demon King) or King of the Koopa in Japan and US respectively. However, if you’re the kind that reads the manual unlike me, you may have noticed that they refer to Bowser as the Sorcerer King.
4. Princess Peach
There’s no better way to say this other than, she’s literally the damsel in distress in many of the Mario games. What do I mean? Generally, most of the games are set in a fictional surrounding known as the Mushroom Kingdom where Mario is tasked with rescuing Princess Peach from Bowser.
Although these are not the only characters that appear in the many Mario released games, they are some of the most known others include Baby Luma, Birdo, Bowser junior, Toad, Princess Daisy, Kamek, Fawful, Toadette, Rosalina, Professor E. Gadd et cetera. The above play various roles such as partners, advisers, servants, and sidekicks.
Although Super Mario is the leading series in the video games from Mario franchise, there are other series such as:
